Since many years, Diethelm Löckenhoff, run a private equestrian stable in the heart of Rheinland, just outside Düsseldorf. 

Around 30 years ago started the change of converting an old family farm to an equestrian stable, as Diethelm Löckenhoff decided to turn his passion for horses into a career.

Family owned since generations, the large property in the heart of Rheinland offers an ideal and comfortable location and conditions for all horses, riders and owners.

We are personally involved on a daily basis in creating an environment in which everyone is comfortable and nothing is missing from neither our horses or clients. We are sure you will appreciate the carefully designed modern facilities, which meet the high demands of our clients and simultaneously the natural demands of the horses.

We also have a constantly changing collection of sales horses suitable for the top sport as well as the leisure riders. 

Talented young athletes, trained tournament horses or ponies ... It is our passion to find suitable connections between riders and horses to have long-term mutual benefit and joy!

Some of our sales horses come from our own or our partners breeding program and some are commissioned from our private clients. Feel free to get in touch and let us know your requirements and we make sure to suggest a matching horse for you.

Our property is simultaneously the home base of the riding and driving association Velbert-Heiligenhaus. Over the years family Löckenhoff has been very involved in the local association and also organise tournaments three times a year.

The heart of our property are the private livery horses and their owners!

It is our ongoing challenge - but also passion - to create a harmonious and functional environment, in which the horses and their riders feel as comfortable as possible.

Bright, generous outdoor and paddock boxes, well-balanced and high-quality forage, plenty of exercise surfaces, walking machine and summer and winter pastures and paddocks form the basis for our horses, making their everyday life as pleasant and appropriate as possible.

In order to meet the most varied requirements of our clients, we offer an almost uninterrupted package of services. Starting from the daily service of taking the horses to and from pastures and walking machine, part / full-time training and tournament support up to the lunging, cleaning and shearing of your horse. Our competent team of employees take care of everything you might need a hand with or struggle to find time for.

Diethelm Löckenhoff

Born in Wuppertal and owner of Master of Horse Management and Agriculture from university of XX. He has over the years taken over the old family farm, which once housed dairy cattle, and modernised it to the modern riding facility it is today with over 100 livery, breeding and sales horses. With great passion, Diethelm is there around the clock for customers and horses. Furthermore, the chairman of the Velbert-Heiligenhaus riding association.

Elke Buddenberg

Studied 1980-1983 'Pferdewirtin/Haltung' (Breeding) with emphasis on riding in the Westphalian Equestrian Center in Münster Handorf

1983-1986 working as a professional trainer in Handorf (training of sales horses as well as presentation for auctions and 30 day stallion tests)

6-month working period abroad

1991 completion of Master of horse management and riding instruction ('Pferdewirtschaftsmeister / Teilbereich Reitausbildung')

Working 11 years as an professional trainer with Thomas Schmitz in Velbert

Elke Buddenberg has been living and working independently at our property  since 2004.

Elke is a long-standing and loyal member of our team of instructors. She is 100% dedicated to her clients and horses around the clock. As well as teaching all levels of riding until the top levels, she also offers competition participation and support.

Elke herself says: "the calm, careful training of horses and riders entrusted to me especially important, so that the owners can enjoy and handle their horses easily."

This sentence describes well Elke's daily work and personality, which is characterized by great reliability, years of experience, professional knowledge and unconditional love for horses.

Walburga 'Pucki' Thomas

Pucki Thomas has been working many years as an independent trainer at our property. 

Pucki takes care of her many clients with full-time training, regular instruction, competition preparation and support.

She enriches our team with her incredible knowledge through many years of experience in dealing with horses. She herself has a successful career in the competition sport, but has also coached successful students up to the German and European dressage championships.

Jennifer Mieves

Education as trainer 2009-2010at Inge Wolters / Andrea Timpen (Velbert-Hattingen) 

Since 2012 employed at Reitanlage Löckenhoff

Jenny is responsible for the training and competition presentation of both the clients and sales horses. Her tasks also include qualified teaching and competition support.

Jenny's steady and concentrated work ethic with the horses is highly appreciated by us and our clients, as well as her continuously positive charisma, reliability, pronounced team spirit and the exemplary behavior in dealing with the clients.

Use our years of experience in horse transport

We transport your horse stress-free and safely throughout Europe according to EU guidelines, insured and of course in compliance with the current animal transport regulations.

We offer the following services:

• Loading assistance
• Sweating blankets
• Travelling boots or bandages and leg wraps
• Possibility for you to accompany your horse (up to 2 people, depending on duration of transport)
• Accompanying horse for nervous and inexperienced travellers
